I was born and raised in Brazil and earned a doctorate in economics at the University of Chicago in the early 1970s. I returned to the United States in 1979, in order to pursue a career at a multilateral organization based in Washington, DC.
After retiring from that job in 2008 (and years of shooting with a conventional SLR camera), I got interested in iPhone photography, drawn by its portability and versatility.
My portfolio reflects my strong interest in composition and color (though I occasionally shoot in the classic black & white mode as well). It also draws on my extensive domestic and international travels, and visual stimulation from my home locations in Virginia and Michigan.
