Mary Brownstein creates unique, one-of-a-kind sculptures in cement for gardens. Her work is featured in landscapes large and small along the East Coast and other areas of the U.S.

After graduating from American University with a Master's Degree in Sculpture, Ms. Brownstein began searching for a medium which would allow her to create works which could live out of doors. The result is her system of reinforced cement built upon a steel armature, painted and sealed against the weather.

Ms. Brownstein lives and works at her home and studio in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She has exhibited extensively in solo shows at the Middle St. Gallery and the Artspace of Imaging Acceptance Corporation in Warrenton, Virginia, and has showed in group shows and juried exhibitions in Virginia, Tennessee, Hawaii, Maryland and Washington D.C.

The Middle Street Gallery's mission is to support quality and innovation in the arts, to promote the exposure, exhibition and sale of its members' work, and to provide opportunities for the interaction between artists and the community in a regional, rural setting.
